Sakhalin, Shell Oil | Print |  E-mail
Sakhalin is the world’s largest single project in the oil and gas industry. The plant is Russia’s first for liquefied natural gas (LNG) and is situated on the island of Sakhalin, east of Siberia.

Image All the products for this project have been customised. Some are standard products that have been modified and supplemented, while others have been built from scratch to meet the customer’s requirements. The products are used for supplying after heat to air treatment units or as free-standing fan heaters.
Our ability to customise products, combined with the very close co-operation between VEAB’s various departments and the purchaser, led to the deal being struck.

The plant is in a strategic location, close to major growth markets such as China, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan.

It is anticipated that production will start up in 2008. The first parts of Sakhalin were oil platforms in the Sea of Okhotsk, which were brought online in 1999. The gas deposits in the area are among the largest in the world.
